Simon Talbot

GGS

Simon Talbot, Founder and Managing Director of GGS, is an Engineering Geologist by training and an Environmental Geologist by practice. With over 30 years of experience in working in both the private and public sectors, he is one of the UK’s most valued and trusted experts in the fields of contaminated land and ground-gas issues.

Simon spent 11 years working as Director of GMGU, a specialist unit managed in partnership between the University of Manchester and Salford City Council. Here he undertook teaching, training and research activity. One of his projects was to research better ways to characterise ground-gas contamination hazards. The success of this project resulted in the commercialisation of the continuous monitoring of ground-gasses technology.

Simon has published several papers and regularly speaks at national and international conferences.

Successful Continuous Ground-Gas Monitoring and Risk Assessment

Continuous ground-gas monitoring services have been provided by GGS for almost ten years. In that time the technique has moved from being a novel esoteric approach to a main stream monitoring tool.

This seminar will draw on GGS’ extensive experience to distil out the elements that make up a successful investigation and risk assessment campaign. It will debunk some of the myths and provide a taster of things to come.
